Date:

The Alaminos City Local Civil Registry (LCR) has been recently awarded the “Best Practices in Civil Registration for Good Governance Award” for its remarkable achievement in building, promoting and sustaining a strong and committed implementation of civil registration programs in the city.

Mr. Reynaldo R. Castro, City Civil Registrar, received the award during the 9th Philippine Association of Civil Registrars (PACR) National Convention held at Punta Villa Resort.

Castro, also the vice president and president of regional and provincial association of civil registrars, respectively, attributed the award to LCR’s outreach programs that were performed beyond their routine activities.

Foremost of which is taking the lead in the annual conduct of Mayor Hernani A. Braganza’s priority thrusts that include mass civil wedding, mobile birth registration, and intensive information-education campaign in the barangays using the quadra-media.

Castro believed though that the introduction of the digital archiving, state-of-the-art-facility, spelled a big difference for the LCR, hence earning a commendation from PACR.

“This simple yet gratifying recognition will certainly inspire us to work harder and mind on the welfare of our citymates in line with the noble programs of the Braganza administration,” said Castro.

The City Civil Registry Office has been a consistent recipient of provincial and regional citations for its above par performance, relentless effort and unwavering commitment and providing quality services to the city residents.

In congratulating for its recent feat, Ms. Luchi M. Flores, PACR President, cited the city LCR and the whole officialdom of Alaminos for contributing towards the improvement of Philippine civil registration.

“Our respect and honor goes to you and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod for your kind support and appreciation of the genuine services that your City Civil Registrar is extending to the constituents of your city,” Flores added.

PACR is a legitimate and only professional organization of all local civil registrars in the Philippines.

This year, it has named 26 awardees from among its 1,600 strong members nationwide.

Aside from Alaminos, other awardees in the province were the local civil registry offices of San Jacinto and Dasol.

Each of the awardees showed a multi-media presentation consisting photo essays and video documents during the said convention to reveal and share exemplary services or best practices that are worthy of admiration and replication by other PACR members.(CIO)
