Alaminos honors outgoing barangay, SK officials

Mayor Hernani A. Braganza, Vice Mayor Teofilo G. Humilde Jr. and the members of the city council will honor the longest serving barangay captains and outgoing Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairpersons in a simple awarding rite slated on Saturday, November 24, at the Don Leopoldo Sison Auditorium here.

The special occasion coincided with the presentation and mass induction program for the city’s new set and re-elected barangay and SK officials.

City Administrator Wilmer S. Panabang said family members, friends and city residents will be joining the affair for the outgoing and incoming local officials.

Panabang said the tribute was conceived by Mayor Braganza to give due recognition to these local officials who have dedicated most of their lives in unwaveringly serving their barangaymates.

Braganza, the affair’s guest of honor and speaker, will be citing the awardees’ sterling achievements as public servants as well as their valuable contributions to their communities and the city as a whole.

The hardworking city head will likewise personally congratulate anew the recently elected barangay officials and their families.

He is also expected to encourage the city’s partners in the development of Alaminos to fully extend their hands of reconciliation to their opponents and move forward for the betterment of their constituents.

The honorees will be conferred with plaques of recognition by Mayor Braganza and Vice Mayor Humilde right after the Mayor’s inspirational talk.

Among the awardees, who mostly served the maximum 3 consecutive terms prescribed by the law, were barangay chieftains Odelito M. Bugayong, Sr. (Alos), Manolito B. Rapayrapay (Balangobong), Remedios R. Razote (Baley-daan), Enrique B. Biazon, Sr. (Bued), Jessie A. Majen (Dulacac), Dionisio C. Aquino (Inerangan), Severino C. Beniola (Lucap), Alfonso B. Bantolino, Sr. (Maawi), Virgilio F. Velasquez (Macatiw), Teofilo R. Bengson (Palamis), Timoteo N. Giron (Pandan), Manuel R. Gapasen (Pangapisan), Alfredo B. Peralta (Pogo), Emilio R. Briones, Sr. (Sabangan), Marcelo M. Rendon (San Antonio), Liborio G. Ramos (Sta. Maria), Jimmy S. Sarmiento (Tangcarang), Jimmy C. Bergonia (Tawin-tawin) and Mario P. Rabadon (Victoria), also the outgoing president of the Association of Barangay Captains-city chapter.

Also to be honored are the out-going SK officials headed by its federation president-councilor Margielou Orange D. Humilde of Barangay Pogo. (CIO)
