CSJA, ACNHS rule 2007 ISLA Challenge

Students of Alaminos City National High School (ACNHS) and Colegio San Jose de Alaminos (CSJA) topped this year’s edition of Inter-School Learning Activity (ISLA) Challenge for secondary and levels, respectively held just recently at the Don Leopoldo Sison Auditorium.
Bannered by Ryan Cristoffer Eden, Justo M. de Guzman III, and Omar R. Añonuevo ACNHS took home the top prize of P 10, 000 plus a gorgeous trophy, medals and certificates of recognition.
The team of Dylyn Grace F. Ferrer, Robert Henry A. Mendoza, and Wendel V. Iyoy of the CSJA also received the same prizes and incentives for being the new champs.
Making up for its dismal performance last year, Golden West Colleges (GWC) surprised its counterparts to rule the collegiate level.
The team of Jimmy Brondial, Leovany Aglibot, Mae Ann Adviento racked up many points from easy to average and enjoyed a comfortable lead going to difficult.
Great Plebeian College and STI, settled for the 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, after failing to score on the clincher round which offers 3 points for every correct answer.

3rd Prize – Polo Elementary School, Coach – Mary Joy C. Montenegro, Gelyn P. Rapelo, Feliz Anne Defina R. dela Torre.
4th Prize – Sabangan Elementary School, Coach – Dolores V. Duran, Team members – Louie Rose B. Espelita Brenda R. Valdez, Mark Angelo F. Ranches.
5th Prize – Amangbangan Elementary School, Coach – Gemma P. Payas, Team members – Ryan P. Rapisura, Cristian C. Tugade, Shaina T. Ramos.
Secondary Level:
1st Prize – Alaminos City national High School, Coach –Cristy Grace W. Bautista, Team members – Ryan Cristoffer Eden, Justo M. de Guzman III, Omar R. Añonuevo.
2nd Prize – Colegio San Jose de Alaminos, Coach Juliet P. Reyes, Team members – Nina Patrizzia Panaligan, John Angelo Nicdao, Allan Paul Sajonas.
3rd Prize – Great Plebeian College, Coach – Ruben C. Pacis, Team members – Jan Lester M. Rabaya, Jeoffre I Estallo, Jeffrey T. Libayan.
Tertiary:
1st Prize – Golden West Colleges, Coach – Rhodora C. Resoso, Team members – Jimmy Brondial, Leovany Aglibot, Mae Ann Adviento.
2nd Prize – Great Plebeian College, Coach – Marilou R. Rapatalo, Team members – Arnel Ginez, Corazon Calpatura, Geraldine Fernandez.
3rd Prize – STI, Coach – Romulo F. Ramos, Jr., Team members – Norisza T. Ramirez, Moises F. Bandola, Jr., Ma. Theresa C. Rapues.
Meanwhile, City Administrator Wilmer S. Panabang, in his message prior to the awarding rites, commended the men and women behind the successful staging of the ISLA Challenge.
He made special mention to City Schools Superintendent-Dr. Renato R. Viray, Over-All Chairman, Dr. Gloria N. Reinoso-Co-Chairman and City Librarian Zenaida C. Romero, being the chairman of the working committee.
He also thanked the members Board of Jurors namely education supervisors Dr. Mercuria Rendon, Mrs. Cecilia Nisperos, Mrs. Febelina Jimenez, Mr. Wilfredo Sindayen of the Alaminos City Division (ACD) and the group of Dr. Elena Barcelona, Dr. Merlita Santos, Dr. Florita Lopez and Prof. Chris Cucal from Pangasinan State University.
The administrator, who was joined by city councilor Ma. Angela A. Braganza, SP Committee chair on Education, also congratulated this year’s winners and all the participants for surviving the “challenge” and at the same time gaining more friends.
