Date:

Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza led his constituents in extending gratitude to President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III for pushing the early completion of the Alaminos Development Airport which construction started last year.

P-Noy announced during his recent visit in the province that he ordered the Department of Finance to release P75 million which will be used to complete the land acquisition component of the airport project.

The amount represents the second tranche of the 135.7 million budget for land acquisition.

“My kabaleyans and of course my provincemates would like to thank His Excellency President Noynoy Aquino for his commitment to complete the airport project,” Braganza said.

President Aquino visited the province for the second time last week to inaugurate the Agno River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning System (ARBFFWS) in Rosales town and the engineered sanitary landfill in Urdaneta City.

In his first visit in Bani last year, President Aquino said the Alaminos Airport Project is one of the major infrastructure projects that his administration intends to build and complete.

He even endorsed the inclusion of said airport project through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) program of the national government.

Mayor Braganza said the airport, which has a total cost of P3.9 Billion is set to operate domestically in 2013 and internationally in 2022.

The airport, which is expected to attract more tourists and investments, will occupy 158.5 hectares, including the 13.5-hectare access road, in the villages of Sabangan, Pandan and Telbang. (CIO)
