Media giant, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation and its affiliate Studio 23, continue to extend its fair share in promoting the unique natural wonders of the City of the Hundred Islands.

Last Friday, Trip na Trip, which regularly aired every Sunday at 12:30 AM, experienced the real adventure at the Hundred Islands National Park (HINP).

The TV program produced by Bayan Productions Co. Inc. and features exciting journeys and adventures in the country is hosted by Katherine de Castro and Franzen Fajardo, along with guest co-hosts Uma Khuony and Jason Gaiza.

The two day visit here afforded Katherine, daughter of Vice-President Noli de Castro and batch 1 Pinoy Big Brother stars an utmost chance to discover what the heart of western Pangasinan could truly offer to local and foreign tourists.

This is so far the 9th TV program of ABS-CBN to feature Alaminos’ bests that also include the food, the culture, scenery, the programs and activities, the city’s noble vision and the Alaminian hospitality.

In August 2004, Congressman Miguel Zubiri brought his team to the Hundred Islands for his weekly show-Team Explorer. Studio 23’s Men’s Room also shoots at the Park last December of the same year.

Former beauty queen and actress Ms. Charlene Gonzalez-Mulach also felt very at home here in her visit to the city last May 1, 2005.

The At Home Ka Dito host confessed she enjoyed the seafood dishes, cool ambience and even defied her limits as she tried on extreme adventure sports at the park like the parasailing, tyrolean traverse, scuba diving as well as kayaking.

Late last year, the Northern Catch-Atin ‘To of ABS-CBN Regional Network Group, showcased the richness of the Alaminos and the wonders of the HINP.

Shooting of ABS-CBN RNG at 100 Islands for Station I.D. and interviews with Mayor Hernani A. Braganza were telecast-over ABS-CBN Patrol Northern and Central Luzon.

Ms. Korina Sanchez and the Rated K took there turn to personally learn from the amazing transformation of the city, the tourism boom and Mayor Hernani A. Braganza’s grand plan for the city for their “Siento por Siento” episode.

Aware of various sporting events hosted by the city like the National Triathlon Open, Wall Climbing and Adventure Race, Studio 23’s Game Plan visited Alaminos last March 6-8 to find out more of the city’s sustainable adventure sports, tourist development program and Coastal Resource Management Program.

Magandang Umaga Pilipinas, likewise regularly featured the city especially during momentous affairs like the Hundred Islands Global Homecoming and City Fiesta celebration.

But what really wowed Alaminians most and the rest of the province is the Pinoy Big Bother Teen Edition at Hundred Islands particularly at the Governor’s Island last May 28-31, 2006

The PBB Big Four and ex-housemates exemplified the youth of today as they help in the cleaning and re-greening of the city’s coastal barangays and at the park and offered worthy gifts to less fortunate children in the cityMayor Hernani A. Braganza, who is usually interviewed by the TV show hosts, expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for all the worthy contributions extended to the young but soon to be great City of Alaminos.

In behalf of very grateful city and whole officialdom, I say thank you and more power to ABS-CBN and Studio 23 headed by its President and CEO Eugenio Lopez III,” added Braganza.

The Mayor also thanked other TV programs that featured Alaminos in the past like GMA’s Unang Hirit and SAKSI, NBN-World’s and RPN-9 for the mileage it provides the city in aiming to bring back the magic of the Hundred Islands. (CIO)
