It was formerly named Sta. Isabel and was divided into two [2] sitios, Alos Sur and Alos Norte. It was further divided into six [6] sitios during the Spanish regime - Tangcarang, Linmansangan, Macatiw, Manga, Quibuar and Maaoi [w/c are now independent barangays]. In 1969, a new parish church in honor of St. Mark the Evangelist was built in the barangay.
